EUROCERT: International Innovation Through the Organization of the “Carbon Footprint Manager” Seminar

The first “Carbon Footprint Manager” training seminar, organized by EUROCERT, was successfully completed as part of the organization’s new educational initiative aimed at developing professional skills in climate management and sustainable development.

The program attracted participants from a wide range of professional backgrounds, including business executives, environmental scientists, engineers, sustainability consultants, and technical experts. Participants received comprehensive training in the measurement, management, and neutralization of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, in accordance with the international standards ISO 14064-1, ISO 14064-2, and ISO 14068-1, as well as the requirements of the Greek National Climate Law (Law 4936/2022).

The program instructor, Mr. Nikolaos Sifakis, Director of Planning & New Services Development at EUROCERT, stated:

“The demand for professionals with proven competence in emissions management is now critical. The Carbon Footprint Manager is not merely a new title, but a role of strategic importance for any organization seeking climate neutrality and sustainable growth.”

Upon completion of the program, participants were given the opportunity to take part in professional certification examinations in accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17024, obtaining one of the following professional titles, depending on the duration and level of program completion:
• Specialized Carbon Footprint Calculation Expert
• Designer of Carbon Footprint Reduction and Neutralization Projects, or
• Carbon Footprint Manager

The seminar represents the first phase of a broader training cycle that will be repeated on a regular basis, with the objective of creating a new body of certified professionals in the fields of climate management, energy transition, and ESG standards.
The successful completion of the first training cycle confirms EUROCERT’s commitment to actively contributing to the development of professionals capable of measuring, reducing, and ultimately offsetting the carbon footprint of organizations and projects, thereby supporting in practice the transition toward a climate-neutral economy.
