children and disabled people. The basic construction difference between escalators and moving walkways is that in the moving walkway the user carrying surface remains parallel to its direction of motion and is uninterrupted, pallets or belts are used instead of steps.

Initial inspection
In the case of new installation, the manufacturer shall provide the auditor of
EUROCERT declaration of conformity by the manufacturer (machine safety,
risk analysis). Additionally, the manufacturer provides the relevant
installation documentation (description of equipment, mechanical layout
drawings, wiring diagram, operation manuals, etc.)
Periodic inspection
In the case of existing installations, the owner / operator shall submit to the
Controller of EUROCERT, the available components of the machine. The
auditor of EUROCERT performs spot checks which include: visual inspection,
testing satisfactory operation, testing electrical equipment and braking tests
in relation the required distances.
